expected to be quite large tomorrow at the cfe arena so ucf pushed back the event until 2:00 in the afternoon. jim: wesh 2' s michelle meredith looks into the impact on you whether or not you are going to the trump rally. michelle: the university of central florida is gearing up for donald trump. for example putting up , barracades . inside the arena the crew in , charge of sound and lighting is setting up. setting up to make sure trump can deliver his message loud and clear to enthusiastic supporters who anxiously await his arrival. >> i am a strong supporter of of him. his passion, his personality to the people to the u.s to make changes. michelle: most the ucf students we talked to today are far more worried about their mid term exams than donald trump. others enjoy the process.

give the students an opportunity to know the different people that are running. michelle: and what' s the chant going to be? >> the chant is going to me we , make america great. michelle: but one group of students are worried worried that trump could ge elected they' re planning a protest outside the arena. say they could be anywhere from 600 to 1000 strong. >> he' s poisoning the political culture of this country. we need a serious discussion of issues that doesn' t involve diminishing or demonizing other groups of people. that has been the whole basis of his campaign from the beginning. michelle: traffic congestion on the ucf campus has been a problem during big events. and because there' s another event going on roughly the same time at the rally, trump' s campaign staff pushed back the start time. the rally will now start 2:00 instead of noon. the doors here will open at saturday morning at 11:00. in orange county, michelle meredith, wesh 2. jim: look for live coverage of donald trump' s event on the wesh 2 news app, and we'

more coverage from marco rubio' s event in jacksonville. count on complete commitment 2016 coverage on wesh 2 news. meredith: tonight a man in the orange county jail is a person of interest in the murder of an orlando sentinel employee who was shot and killed on saturday. investigators say they found 24-year-old joshua otis carter in a black infinity related to the homicide. he' s being held on charges unrelated to the murder of 36-year-old jose gomez. his body was found in a parking area at the lotus landing apartments in altamonte springs. nearby residents say they' re still shaken by such a violent crime so close to home. >> it is scary . i get home, and is not the same feeling. i am looking around making sure i don' t see any weird people around. meredith: in a new release today, altamonte springs police say this was not a random crime and they are still asking anyone with information to come forward. new at 6:00, marion deputies find a body buried in the ocala national forest. detectives say they got a tip

possibly buried there. this is just off forest road 50. when they got to the area, they say they did find a body. investigators are hoping to know more about the body after an autopsy is performed. jim: new details tonight in the case of the 3-year-old who was hurt falling out of an suv. ormond beach police have charged the mother with child neglect. police say on tuesday , into nature' s garden on granada boulevard at lewis street and left the child in a chevy blazer. the vehicle somehow rolled into the street and the child fell out. it is unclear whether he was hit by the suv or injured in the fall. he' s expected to be ok. meredith: only on wesh, a hectic scene in deltona today when victims took it upon themselves to go after some suspects. it all ended in a car crash on howland boulevard. volusia county deputies say a little before noon, a man with a gun jumped into an suv at the winn dixie plaza and demanded jewelry and other valuables. two women and a two-year-old were inside. the victims fought back and the

the suv went after the truck, rammed it, and the suspects took off running. but they were soon arrested. jim: tonight orlando police are trying to figure out who killed a man at a local apartment complex. they do not believe this was a random act. officers responded to a shooting at the cypress pointe apartments by lake orlando last night. they found 22-year-old carlton wilson unresponsive in an apartment around 8:30. cypress pointe is a gated neighborhood in the 3900 block of versailles drive. >> i' m not surprised. i mean, there is a lot of activities that goes on here that is not legal. you can see it on a daily basis and it' s gated, so it' s pretty much people in and out of the community. jim: nobody else was hurt. police have not said what sparked the shooting. if you know anything about wilson' s murder, call crimeline at 1-800 423-tips. meredith: accused of stealing money from a girl scout, a brother and sister faced a judge for the first time this afternoon in volusia county. as wesh 2' s dave mcdaniel found out in court, the siblings may

of jail. dave: a 20-year-old, accused of taking money out of the hands of a girl scout. the 12-year-old and her mom were selling cookies outside the deltona wal-mart sunday. investigators say nicholas delbrugge, he grabbed the cash box while her hands were still on it. once security camera pictures were publicized, tips came pouring on from people who said they knew the man, and his sister. the report says both siblings, were clearly conspiring as to how to steal the property. bryan lambert: it appears there' s decent evidence against one, and the other i can' t tell if she even knew. dave: an attorney hired to argue for lower bonds for both, said the case against ashley winters, is weak. bryan lambert: she was nowhere near mr. delbrugge when the crime was committed. dave: a judge agreed to reduce her bond as a principal to robbery to $2500.

but house lawmakers want changes, and bridget is pleading with them to compromise before they adjourn next week. bridget pine: so that families like myself and future families that will walk this horrific journey won' t have to -- will be taking care of. they won' t have to worry. jim: if passed, the changes would help survivors of slain officers retroactively to july, 2013. meredith: a daytona beach man is accused of raping and beating a woman he had been in a relationship with months before. 31-year-old travis walker is facing a host of charges including sexual battery and , kidnapping. police say he followed the victim home because she' d been drinking. the victim says once inside the house, walker attacked her, raped her, and then punched her in the face, then kept her from getting away. jim: a person -- the girlfriend of a man shot by daytona police

on what the man was going through. jennifer tindall says her boyfriend, dimitri corcino, was wrestling with worsening emotional problems, including paranoia. he believed people were out to kill him, and always carried a gun. during tuesday' s standoff, she says police called her twice. she asked to help talk corcino out of the house peacefully, but says she was never patched through. finally, corcino called her, but only briefly. >> he was calm. he was scared. his comment to me was, please come home, i' m scared. there' s people outside with guns, and they' re going to kill me. jim: police say they had to shoot dimitri corcino because he made a threatening move with a handgun after threatening to shoot neighbors and police. meredith: guidelines may soon be in effect for any florida law enforcement agency that uses body cameras. a bill was passed today that would require police to develop standards for the use of body cameras and how the audio and video files will be stored. most agencies in the state do not use body cameras, but there has been a push nationally to increase their use in the wake of police shootings. jim: a melbourne man is living proof you can fight city hall.

gail: the attorney for michaeal kennedy the owner of the king cobra elvis, which escaped last october wanted some statements and information his client made to florida fish and wildlife officials supresssed. >> when one escapes, they' re required to notifiy the authorit, which is fwc. >> when doing that, you are obviously notifying one of your animals has escaped, and they are trying to use that information against you in court. they can' t have it both ways. gail: the state argued michael kennedy didn' t report the snake missing until 24 hours later, after the search for the cobra. the state says a neighor who will be called as witness will testify to that. >> he told me that he known that the cobra escaped, and mike kennedy told him. gail: the snake was found october 7 last year under a clothes dryer in a neighbor' s garage. after careful consideration the the judge ruled in favor of mike kennedy, saying his 5th

department of health and nurseries. soon people in volusia county may not go to jail if they' re caught with marijuana. council members passed an ordinance which gives law enforcement flexibility to fine people caught with 20 grams of marijuana or less. if you' re caught, police could just give you a citation instead of arresting you. it goes into affect on april 1st, but only applies to un-incorporated volusia county and the beach. jim: altamonte springs is teaming up with uber to help make it cheaper for residents to get around the city. the two organizations confirm today what we first reported last night. the city will use old flex bus money and private donations to lower uber fares 20% for trips that start and end in altamonte springs, and 25% if you start or end at the city' s sunrail station. city leaders say riders should have no worries about their uber drivers. >> uber has agreed to do background checks as part of they' ve also agreed to have very so we' re exactly where we need

michael phelps is looking to rule the pool in central florida tonight. tonight the 22-time olympic , medalist is in the finals for the 100m backstroke. he' s joining other big name swimmers at the arena pro swim series meet at the ymca aquatic center on i-drive in orlando. despite a dominant performance in the backstroke, he failed to advance in the breaststroke, posting the 15th fastest time.
